2 New York Spa Employees Arrested For Prostitution


The New York State Police at Cortlandt – (News release) – Bureau of Criminal investigation, announces the arrest of two subjects following a lengthy investigation into an unlawful day spa operating at 2153 Albany Post Road in the Montrose section of the Town of Cortlandt.

Following several tips from area residents, undercover State Police assets began to conduct surveillance and following the multi-week investigation, two spa employees were arrested. The defendants are accused of providing massages without a license as well as sexual services in return for monetary reimbursement.

On on June 10, 2016, 29-year-old Gaukhar Jetybayeva and 27-year-old Olena Stepaniuk, both of Brooklyn, New York, were charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of a Practice, a Class “E” Felony, one count of Criminal Nuisance in the 2nd Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, and Prostitution, a Class “B” Misdemeanor.

Both defendants are being held in custody pending arraignment in Cortlandt Town Court. The investigation into this matter is continuing and additional arrests are possible.
