LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY — (News Release / LPD) — – A Lexington man is under arrest for the murder of a female acquaintance. Patrick Ryan Jones, 24, is charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse in connection with a homicide investigation that began Thursday morning on Malabu Drive.
Shortly after 5 a.m., Thursday, July 21, an individual called the Lexington Police Department requesting to speak with an officer. The investigation led officers to an apartment complex on Malabu Drive where they located the dismembered body a young woman. The victim’s identity will be released by the Fayette County Coroner pending notification of next of kin.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives determined that sometime on the evening of Wednesday, July 20, Mr. Jones got into an altercation with the victim. It is believed that the suspect used a blunt object to fatally assault her. The victim’s remains were located in multiple areas near the apartment complex.
